Trotter and Associates, Inc. is an established Engineering and Surveying firm based in St. Charles, Illinois. The firm was originally founded based on its expertise in water/wastewater engineering. The firm has expanded its services to include traditional Civil/Site, as well as Watershed Resources and Utility Infrastructure Rehabilitation. Currently, TAI serves over 50 municipalities throughout northern Illinois.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Engineering Technician/CADD Operator will handle preparing engineering plans, surveys, 3D Modeling and exhibits using AGETK, ESRI, and MicroStation. The technician may work on survey crews in the field and perform field inspections from time to time. You must be a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a desire to learn. You must have completed at least 2 years of higher education, and possess an Associate in Applied Science degree (or comparable). 

 

Specific tasks include:


Engineering Technician

  • Import field data from Land Surveyors
  • Draw and Annotate Topographic Surveys
  • Draw and Annotate Existing Conditions
  • Draw and Annotate Proposed Horizontal and Vertical Geometry
  • Prepare Utility Plan and Profiles
  • Generate Existing 3D Ground Surface Models
  • Generate Profiles and Cross Sections from Existing Conditions
  • Prepare 3D Models of Proposed Improvements

 

To achieve this, you will work as part of a team, under the direction of the Division Leader and the Senior CADD Technician, who will provide training and support, until you are proficient enough with the software and engineering practices to work independently.

 

Your work will allow the company to continue to meet the needs of our clients, while also expanding our client base and work load capabilities.

Range: $50,000 - $80,000 per year
