A key part of the Trotter internship experience is seeing projects take shape where the work is happening. Last week, Project Engineer Cade Sundstedt met with Trotter interns at a City of Woodstock roadway improvement project, sharing a field perspective on how municipal infrastructure projects advance from planning to final construction. Sixteen interns, learning the value of Boots on the Ground this summer!

The TAI Team spent Saturday morning with their kids at St. Charles Public Works Open House—learning, exploring, and yes, climbing into some serious equipment. Behind every strong community is a great public works team – TAI appreciates all the partnerships and thanks the City of St. Charles for allowing us to get our “Small Boots On the Ground!”

The excitement is rolling into APWA Chicago Metro Chapter’s Annual Expo & Roadeo this week at the Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center! Public works professionals from across the region are coming together to showcase impressive equipment, hands-on skills, and the innovation driving our communities forward. Be sure to stop by and connect with Scott Trotter. Karen Young, Maranda Manley, Christian Betz, Chris Marschinke, Eli Winkle, and Steve Cieslica at Booth 47 — we’d love to see you there!

During National Public Works Week, Trotter and Associates proudly recognizes the public works professionals serving communities throughout our region. We thank those who work every day — often behind the scenes — to keep infrastructure operating safely and communities moving forward. Whether responding during emergencies or supporting everyday operations, your work has a lasting impact across the communities we serve. Thank you today and every day! #NPWW #APWA @American Public Works Association
