Work is underway on a new drinking water well to enhance water supply capacity for Aqua Illinois’s water system within the Candlewick Lake community in Poplar Grove, Illinois. The first phase includes drilling Well No. 3 to a planned depth of just over 900 feet. Drilling is expected to continue through the fall, followed by test pumping to evaluate the new well.

A subsequent phase will include the construction of a new well house, the installation of an additional iron-removal pressure filter, and other treatment improvements at the existing water treatment facility. Together, these improvements will expand the system’s water supply and treatment capabilities to support the community.
