TAI’s Alex Dye Becomes Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois

Dec 06, 2023

On behalf of the TAI team, we are excited and honored to acknowledge Alex Dye, P.E., for his accomplishments this year. In November, Alex passed the Transportation PE and became a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois and will soon be licensed in the State of Wisconsin.

Since joining TAI in April 2019, Alex has gained extensive experience designing and constructing stormwater management and transportation projects across Northeastern Illinois.

For the past four years, Alex has taken on the role of resident engineer for the Village of Barrington Hills Road Program. He provides construction oversight, manages the project team, and has become an integral part of the planning phase for the Village Barrington Hills Road Programs. These extensive road programs include pavement removal, HMA patching, installation of HMA binder and surface courses, culvert removal and replacement, grading and shaping ditches to improve drainage, landscape restoration, and completing project documentation by IDOT policies and procedures.

Alex has also played a large part in the design and construction management of road programs in the City of North Chicago over the last four years. In addition to overseeing construction activities and leading the project team, Alex took charge of the diverse project elements, including ranking the roads, planning, and budgeting phase meetings, preparing plans and specifications, bidding the project out, responding to field changes, and closing the projects.

Most recently, Alex managed the design and bidding process and assisted with construction administration, which included answering field questions, responding to changes, providing history from the design process to the construction manager, and processing payment applications for the City of Woodstock’s Water Main and Road Program, a combined project totaling approximately 8 million dollars. He is currently planning and designing next year’s City of Woodstock Water Main and Road Program.

Alex has become an integral part of our engineering team, and TAI congratulates him on his accomplishments!
