TAI assists City of North Chicago in neighborhood revitalization efforts

Feb 03, 2020

Trotter and Associates (TAI), the City of North Chicago’s engineer, began 2020 by coordinating the first of a series of structure demolitions. TAI’s Phil Kazimier (Head of Construction) and Steve Cieslica (Vice President, P.E.) prepared the plans & specifications for this project while Chris Merino has been overseeing and coordinating the demolition portion in the field. TAI’s GIS staff (Mark Dupree & Chris Merino) have also assisted the City with tracking demolition projects throughout the years with an interactive map. This busting program has been partially funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and IDHA Abandoned Properties Grant. As a result of the City’s blight busting program, North Chicago has seen a substantial increase in property values.

The project has been featured on ABC7 News , WBBM News Radio and The Daily Herald.
