WORK DESCRIPTION:

Replace existing chlorination/dechlorination disinfection system with a new ultraviolet disinfection system, including trenching, backfill, piping, fittings, valves, reinforced concrete, UV disinfection equipment and controls, electrical, surface restoration, erosion and sediment control, and all other items of work necessary for a complete and functioning ultraviolet disinfection system as shown and specified. 


Owner Provided Equipment: 

  1. The Owner will separately procure the Ultraviolet Disinfection Equipment required for this project. The Contractor will install the Owner procured equipment. The Contractor will provide and install all other materials and items of work not provided by the Owner.
  2. The Owner will separately procure the following equipment for the project:
  3. One (1) complete UV system supplied with Type 304 Stainless Steel Channel, Module Support Rack, Level Control Weir, Transition Boxes, Monitoring System, Spare Parts Package, Operator Kit and Maintenance Rack.
  4. Six (6) Type 316 Stainless Steel Modules, containing two (2) UV lamps each module-total of 12 UV lamps in the UV system.
  5. Each UV module weighs 30 pounds.
  6. Each UV module has a standard 120V plug and 10 feet weatherproof cable for connection to GFI receptacle.
  7. Three (3) Outdoor-rated GFI Power Distribution Receptables (one for 2 modules).
  8. Monitoring System for local indication of UV intensity, lamp age and alarms.

Payment for Contract Documents is non-refundable and shall be payable to Trotter and Associates, Inc. in the form of cash, certified check or money order. No partial sets of specifications or drawings will be issued. The non-refundable cost for plans and specifications is $50.00. Addenda will be issued only to plan holders. 


Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, bank draft, cashier's check or certified check payable to the order of Prairie Path Water Company in an amount not less than ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid, as a guaranty that the bidder will execute the contract, if it is awarded, in conformity with the bid form. 


The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Completion and Payment Bonds on forms provided in the Specifications and Contract Documents, each in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract sum.


Questions regarding the project received by 12:00 pm on August 5, 2022, will be answered by addendum. Questions submitted after this deadline may not be answered prior to the close of the bidding period. All questions shall be submitted in writing to:
