At the AWWA Annual Convention and Exposition (ACE) Conference in Toronto on June 13, 2023, Haylee Young (Education and Government Affairs Specialist with the Illinois Section of AWWA) and Brandon Thomas P.E. (Project Engineer with Totter and Associates Inc), the Chair of the Education Committee for the Illinois Section of AWWA, were honored with the 2023 Section Education Award.

The award was given for their exceptional work on the Section's Mission Monday series of webinars. Launched in 2022, these webinars have raised awareness and addressed crucial issues such as Lead Service Line Replacement, PFAS removal, and SRF funding. The series is committed to providing ongoing education on pertinent topics to ensure the delivery of safe and sustainable water. Haylee Young and Brandon Thomas, P.E. proudly accepted this award for the Illinois Section of AWWA.
