PARKS AND RECREATION

Trotter and Associates Inc. has worked with several park districts in the design of active and passive recreation facilities. TAI has extensive experience in the planning, design and construction of athletic fields including tennis courts, softball and baseball diamonds, as well as soccer and multi-use fields. These facilities commonly incorporate several uses within the same area in a campus style layout. It is our preference to outline the proposed use of a parcel through a comprehensive plan to provide the best and most efficient use of the property.

TAI has also worked on projects that included the construction of recreational structures. These include seasonal facilities such as outdoor shelters, bleachers, remote concession and restroom facilities.

A good example of a multi-use facility is Batavia Park District’s South Mill Creek Community Park. This facility includes soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, universally accessible play areas, multi-purpose trail with fitness stations, picnic shelter, wetland protection, sensory garden, protection of a historic barn and links to a regional trail system.

A solid example of a comprehensive plan approach is Plato Township Park. This park and its facilities were developed during multiple phases as funds became available. The improvements include active and passive recreation areas as well as parking improvements, ball fields, and concession and restroom facilities.
