Are you a top engineering student looking to impact the engineering field immediately? Trotter and Associates, Inc. (TAI) is expanding and seeking individuals like you to join our team. As a new graduate, you could be one of several new engineers we seek to hire yearly. At Trotter and Associates, Inc., new staff engineers are mentored by project managers to develop engineering leaders. TAI also offers internship positions, in all three of our locations, which could lead to full-time employment opportunities. Interns work with experienced professionals to gain practical experience and advance their education and training.

JOB TITLE

CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP

TAI is seeking sophomore or juniors interested in a career in Construction Engineering. This position will work directly with the Project Managers and include assisting with construction inspection and administration of ongoing projects. Assignments may include field inspection, shop drawing review, pay request review, documentation and construction meeting attendance.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP

TAI’s Wet team is seeking sophomore or juniors interested in a career in Environmental Engineering. This position will work directly with the Project Engineers and include assisting with design, modeling, hydraulic studies, and direct field experience to gain a better understanding of the water and wastewater discipline.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP

TAI’s Structural Engineering Department is seeking sophomore or juniors interested in a career in structural engineering. This position will work directly with the Chief Structural Engineer and include assisting with design, performing basic structural calculations and performing field inspections to gain a better understanding of the field. TAI’s projects include concrete tankage and structures, structural framing, retaining walls, and industrial buildings.

ENTRY LEVEL CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING

TAI is seeking a new grad interested in a career in Construction Engineering and Management. This position will work directly with Project Managers and Engineers to facilitate the construction of municipal infrastructure. Responsibilities may include resident engineering, construction administration, constructability review, shop drawing review, pay request review, project documentation, presentations of progress and conducting construction meetings.


Each team member is expected to have strong communication and presentation skills as this is a very client facing position. TAI team members are leaders in the industry and are encouraged to be involved in local, regional and national associations to continue their professional development.


ENTRY LEVEL ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

TAI’s Wet team is seeking a new grad interested in a career in the Environmental Engineering. This position will work directly with Project Engineers and Managers for the development of water and wastewater infrastructure throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Engineers will be exposed to planning, design and construction aspects of projects including water distribution, supply and storage, wastewater treatment and collection.


Each team member is expected to have strong communication and presentation skills as this is a very client facing position. TAI team members are leaders in the industry and are encouraged to be involved in local, regional and national associations to continue their professional development.


ENTRY LEVEL STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

TAI’s Structural Engineering Department is seeking a new grad interested in a career in structural engineering. This position will report to the Chief Structural Engineer.
